Our Personal and Business Banking teams serve over 16 million individual and small business customers, providing products which are fair and easy to use wherever you are. We offer convenient service and helpful advice through our branch networks, online and mobile apps, and on the telephone.
To our customers, it’s our people who are the face and voice of our business. That’s why we look for people who are open and smart, and who care. If you’re looking for a career where the personal touch matters, then the opportunities in our branch networks and customer contact centres could be perfect for you.
But there’s more to running a business like ours than just the people on the front line. Our customer-facing colleagues are backed by a small army of people in a range of essential supporting roles, from processing to payments.
Branch-based Personal Bankers
For many of our customers, nothing beats doing their banking face-to-face. As a Personal Banker in one of our branches – or in a mobile branch in some parts of the country – you’ll be in the perfect place to build great relationships.
Not only that, but you’ll be helping us to deliver a banking service that’s beyond what’s expected. We’re focusing on using what we know about our customers to help them manage their money and leave them better off, and you’ll be at forefront of that by asking the right questions and introducing the right products.
“Personal Bankers get great satisfaction helping customers with important life events. They give outstanding service and build up relationships, so we can be the best branch we can be. If you want to help people with their finances, can motivate yourself, and are a great communicator, you can make a fantastic impact.”Wesley, NatWest, Worcester

For most people their home is the biggest purchase they’ll ever make. We know how much that matters to them, and we know we can rely on our talented and dedicated Mortgage Advisers to make it an experience they’ll remember for all the right reasons.
Whether you meet customers face-to-face in a branch or talk to them in a specialist mortgage contact centre, you’ll build great relationships every day, taking the time to find out their needs, and acting on it with just the right advice.
“I'm proud to take my customers through their mortgage and house buying journey, helping them choose the right deal for an enormous financial commitment, but ultimately securing their dream home. I learn a lot about them along the way and always try to put myself in their shoes to really understand their needs.”Holly, Mortgage Adviser
Our contact centres are based in Birmingham, Norwich and Greenock, and open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 4pm Saturday. Working over the telephone means rotational shift patterns, so you get great flexibility to put time aside for you, your family and your work-life balance.
Our branches are nationwide, and open Monday to Saturday to reach our customers. So as a Mortgage Adviser in a branch, you’ll need to work some Saturdays.
Customer Contact Centres
For many of our customers our contact centres are the place to turn when they have business with us, big or small. They’re convenient, responsive and helpful.
You’ll be working with customers over the telephone or online, finding answers to their financial questions, giving great advice on making the most of their money, and helping them get to the right products and services. From the simplest transaction to the largest financial matter, you’ll understand what customers need, and act on it.
Because we’re always here for our customers, we offer a range of full and part time opportunities. Expect a minimum of 20 hours each week if you work part time, with at least four hours a shift. Full time contracts are 35 hours a week.
Choosing your shift pattern means you can balance your work with whatever is most important in your life.
We have a range of roles in locations across the country, based in our centres in Birmingham, Chatham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Greenock, Leeds, Leicester, London, Manchester, Southampton and Southend.
Small businesses are the lifeblood of the economy, and our Business Banking teams provide one million start ups, sole traders, and owner managed limited companies with the services they need to manage their finances.
We offer a proposition based on great products, convenience, and a deep understanding of our customers’ businesses. With roles ranging from the entry level to highly specialised lending via Relationship Managers, Business Banking is an incredibly rewarding place to build your career.
Whatever the size and nature of a customer’s business, we offer a way of banking with us that meets their needs. So there are opportunities to join us operating from our branch network, from a business or support hub, or from one of our customer contact centres.
