What you'll do
As a Software Development Engineer, you'll proactively drive and enhance our core infrastructure. This will involve building systems, undertaking automated code-quality assessment, and applying machine learning. You'll design, develop and deliver technical solutions, keeping the customer experience at the forefront of your actions.
As well as this, you'll:
- Identify and mitigate any potential risks that exist within your business area
- Build relationships to ensure a joined up approach across your team
- Stay abreast of technological advancements, and continue to build your skills
The skills you'll need
We're looking for someone with experience of specifying and implementing analytical ecosystems, including big data architecture and full stack analytics capabilities. Along with an understanding of stable, scalable systems that have been successfully deployed in a business setting, you'll have a passion for technology and a focus on the customer experience. With strong people and communication skills you'll work well in a team, and you'll be motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
Your technical skills and experience will include:
- An MSc or equivalent with training in software engineering, computer science or electrical engineering
- Experience in infrastructure specification and development
- Experience with Python, R, C, C++, Scala, Java, .Net, and version control systems
- An understanding of cloud services such as Azure and Amazon Web Services
- Experience with programming machine learning based solutions to real-world problems
