The Responsibilities

Role Responsibilities:

  • Sales of authorised NatWest Markets products to authorised and approved NatWest Markets clients

  • Know your team and reporting structure

  • Know your supervisor

  • Know your business, its risks, applicable policies, regulations and relevant control processes.

  • Ensure stay current with available product suite, market developments and regulatory change

  • Escalate control weaknesses and operational risk issues to supervisors and/or business management

  • Know your clients, stay within credit profile.Ensure client is on-boarded prior to trade execution.Ensure any trades are suitable for client

  • Maintain open channels of communication with trading desk

  • Deliver against personal annual sales budget as defined in performance objectives

  • Meet RWA and RAROE targets (may not apply to all employees)

  • Attract new clients to RBS in accordance with desk strategy as defined in performance objectives

  • Off-board clients in accordance with desk strategy as defined in performance objectives

  • Work closely with Global Sales hubs to ensure US strategy is aligned with our desired client outcomes and support the sale of USD Credit product across all strategic geographies

  • Work in partnership Trading, Sales and research to deliver Fixed Income products to US clients. Performance metrics will be based on revenue quality performance, ROE and cost management

  • Work closely with Relationship Bankers and Relationship managers with respect to holistic client reviews and analysis


  • Proven Knowledge of relevant products

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior clients, stakeholders and senior counterparts, including Boards, Regulators, Governments, Multinational Corporations, etc.

  • Ability to understand and manage core risks of sales processes

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong risk & controls discipline

Role Qualifications:


  • At least 2-5 years Rates Sales Experience

  • Ability to organize tasks and responsibilities as directed by management.

  • University degree

  • FINRA Series 7

  • FINRA Series 63

  • FINRA Series 3
