The Requirements

Join us as a Technical Analyst in Manchester and Edinburgh

  • You will work across a range of application development projects [Neil Alexander] supporting Operational Tax, Anti Money Laundering, Operations and Shared Services business areas, joining us in the Shared Solutions Technology Team, part of Functions and Services, Technology
  • This role offers the opportunity to undertake Agile working, and the chance to work across a range of projects, joining us in the Shared Solutions Technology Team, part of Functions and Services, Technology 
  • You'll achieve key exposure, working across these areas of our business and with 3rd parties, developing as you progress with us 

What you'll do

 

You'll enable change in the organisation, by developing end to end solutions and the translation of problems and opportunities into high level solutions based on knowledge of multiple business product platforms, or technical products or platforms. 

In this role you will: 

  • Provide detailed knowledge in a particular domain or expertise 
  • Define appropriate technical solutions for programmes or platforms to meet business requirements in accordance with bank-wide change standards 
  • Undertake high quality technical analysis, design and delivery of technology solutions or components, including technical guidance, development, configuration and management services for technologies, platforms and products 
  • Provide high quality analytical input to support the development and implementation of innovative processes and problem resolution 
  • Capture, validate and documents technical requirements ensuring they're in line with key strategic principles, and translate these from business operations, business objectives, or from external requirements 
  • Build, manage and maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers across multiple franchises and functions 
  • Utilise RBS P3M (Portfolio, Programme, Project) standard process by understanding the development lifecycles and minimum mandatory requirements 
  • Manage the application and compliance with of RBS Change Framework and Standards, including use of Agile Methodology where appropriate 
  • Research and develops new technologies, and identify and support cut-over and implementation tasks

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll have worked in a technical environment utilising multiple technologies, either in a development or support role. To be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge in one or more technologies or development tools would be ideal. 

We're also looking for knowledge or experience of:

  • Proven application of technical analysis tools and techniques
  • Excellent stakeholder management and teamwork abilities
  • Strong organisation and communication abilities
